Redemption is sweet, a quality win by our Firedragons again. 
We had to make a few adjustments on the fly but that's the beauty of the game, it twists and turns and if you pay attention you learn something. One player was giving us fits and the girls figured it out and that was the end of that. 
Players of the match are Monica and Sophia V. 
One last thing on sportsmanship, as we were shaking hands with the other team their best player walked behind the line and shook no one's hand. It did not get over looked by myself and some of our players. It should go without saying that I would never approve of that behavior and I would not expect that from any one member of our team. Try to be the best player on the field and then try to be the best person off of it.

Just when we got back to level the other team ripped off 3 consecutive goals and that was that. The good news is that it didn't ruin Paige's pizza party, (thanks again). Plenty of work to do starting on Tues. and Thurs. Players of the match are; Kelsey and Grace. We worked some good scoring chances but couldn't finish, that's soccer. If all the teams playing finished all of their scoring opportunities the scores would be a lot higher and maybe then we as Americans would like the sport. Kidding, I like it just fine.

A well earned victory over a quality team. Understand that contact and fouls are a part of the game and they are inevitable. Some coaches teach being physical and playing the player and not the ball, I don't. Be the better team, playing the better soccer. Be the better individual with the higher skill level, that doesn't have to resort to fouling and being physical. That being said, I saw a lot of similarities in the style they played and the style we play. There was a lot of good ball movement on both sides and a lot of quality scoring opportunities from both teams.
Players of the match are Gabrielle and Simi, both of them played solid defense and were in support of the midfield, like they are being taught at practice. Apply what you learn, "gee that's an interesting concept".
A beautiful game played by all and the girls gave everything they had. See you all Tues. and Thurs.

 Solid result in a well played game. I am guilty of believing that the next game played should begin as the last one finished, but that's never the case. Each game has its own individual personality and its own flow. We started playing to the other team's level in the beginning but then found our bearings and finished it in fine Firedragons style, controlling the pace of everything. Players of the match are Kate and Clare. This weeks captains are Paige and Mirei. Due to the fact that there is no game on Sat, (according to the viking schedule) we will only practice on Thurs. I expect to see everyone there unless otherwise noted.

I think everyone will agree that the girls played their hearts out. That is the play and the shape that I want to see every game, forwards defending as well as attacking and defenders attacking as well as defending with the midfield doing what they do best, work hard and support both. Players of the match are Paige and Mirei, honorable mention to everybody else. This weeks captains are, Sophia C. and Andy. As far as practice goes, we start at 5:00 Tues. and Thurs. I need promptness and numbers. Outside of the players who have told me of their prior commitments I need to to see everyone at as many training sessions that you can make. One last thing, Viking rules state that all parents stay on the opposite sidelines as the players. Thanks for your cooperation on this point.
